Coffee is good for you too

In keeping with the recent post about mobile phones not causing cancer, I thought it fitting to have a post about the best (hot) beverage on the planet. The latest research rules in favor of coffee, and states that coffee provides your body with more antioxidants than any other food or beverage in the American diet. Of course, it would depend on what you class as the American diet doesn't it. Research showed the best antioxidant contributing food was:
  1. Coffee: 1,299 milligrams of antioxidants daily (from the average of 1.64* cups of coffee per day)
  2. Tea: 294 milligrams.
  3. Bananas: 76 milligrams
  4. Dry beans: 72 milligrams
  5. Corn:8 milligram
I guess you could think that this means is that other high antioxidant producing food is not being consumed. Still, it always helps to be able to justify having a couple of cups eh? But as always, the best coffee is Fair Trade coffee.

* The other .36 cup is:
  1. Spilt on your lap whilst commuting
  2. Spilt on your white shirt/blouse whilst commuting
  3. Spilt on your newspaper/book/keyboard
  4. Spilt because of faulty take-away cup lids
  5. Just froth that is left over
